If you are a healthy and non-Chinese citizen, you can apply for (any one of the given options):
a. three-year college education, if you have been granted a graduation certificate of high school (or the same education level as high school’s) or higher education.
b. short term (within 6-2 months) education of specialty courses.
c. short term (within 6-2 months) education of Chinese language and culture courses.
II. Diploma/Certificate to be granted
a. Three-year college education program
You can apply to it if you have completed the high school or college education, and obtained the certificate of HSK (Chinese Proficiency Test) Level 4 or higher level. After admission, you can directly start your diploma program.
If you have no certificate of HSK Level 4, you should firstly take the preliminary program of Chinese courses, which will last six to twelve months, and then you can begin with the diploma program.
b. Degree program
If you apply to this program, you will have the opportunity to obtain a bachelor or higher degree granted by one of the famous universities in Wuhan. With them we have reached agreements on cooperation in education of the international students. When you have completed the first two- or three-year study in our institute, and have met the requirements, you can choose Mode 2+2 or Mode 3+2 to have a further education and get a bachelor degree in a university such as Hubei University of Technology, Wuhan Textile University, etc. After the two-year study in a university, you will be granted a bachelor degree. If you complete the further study in a master degree program, you will be granted a master degree.
c. Short term program of specialty courses (6-12 months)
If you are studying in a college, and have completed the basic courses of the specialty and obtained the certificate of HSK Level 4, you can apply for this program. It will last six to twelve months. During the period, you will take the core courses of the relative specialty.
If you have no certificate of HSK Level 4, you should firstly take the preliminary program of Chinese courses, which will last six to twelve months, and then you can begin with the specialty courses. You will be granted the certificate(s) of taking course(s) or of credit points if you meet the course assessment standards. Your graduation diploma will be issued by the college where you were originally enrolled in.

IV. Education program
a. International students will take the same specialty courses as those designed for the Chinese students;
b. and culture courses: Fundamentals of Law, Chinese Culture, National Conditions in China, Chinese History, College Chinese, Chinese Literature, etc.
V. Application date
a. From March 15 to May 15 students, who have certificates of HSK Level 4 or higher level, can apply for admission in autumn semester.
b. From September 15 to January 15 students, who have no certificate of HSK Level 4, can apply for admission in spring semester. After admission in our institute, you should firstly complete a six-month Chinese learning program, and then start o study specialty courses.
c. From March 15 to May 15 students, who have no certificate of HSK Level 4, can apply to the short term program of specialty courses for admission in autumn semester. Before the admission, you should complete a three-month Chinese learning program to meet the requirements of HSK Level 4, and then you can start to study specialty courses.

The applicants should submit: 1. The Admission Application Form for international students; 2. A copy of Passport; 3. The original copy of Graduation Certificate(s) of high school or higher education, or certificate of specialty study which should be offered by the college; 4. The original copy of transcript; 5. A copy of certificate of HSK Level 4, or having a phone interview in Chinese, if applying for diploma education; 6. Six pieces of recent passport size photograph (with white background, 2 inch); 7. b. Free items: tuition waiver (Wuhan Institute of Shipbuilding Technology subsidizes for each international student the tuition of RMB 12000.)
c. Accommodation fee is 6000 yuan/year, including air conditioner fee under the basic quota. The international students can share a room with one or more students at their own will.

VIII. Scholarships
a. The international students who are at the program of learning Chinese can apply for the international student scholarship of “One Belt, One Road”project offered by Hubei Provincial Government.
b. The excellent international students, who have taken the courses longer than one semester in Wuhan Institute of Shipbuilding Technology, will have the opportunity to obtain a scholarship amounting to 1000 to 4000 yuan.
IX. Short term courses of Chinese language and Chinese culture
a. The international students can take the courses of Chinese language and Chinese culturein our institute. The period is usually fixed for six to twelve months. Please see the relative articles for application and fee.
b. The courses of Chinese language and Chinese culture is aimed at providing the international students with language capability for future specialty study. These courses can also be used as the special training ones of Chinese language.
c. The international students, after the completion of Chinese courses, can apply for such Chinese tests as HSK, BCT (Business Chinese Test) , YCT (Youth Chinese Test), etc. We hire experts to guide the students to prepare of the tests.
d. The international students are welcome to communicate with the Chinese teachers and students. They are encouraged to participate in the campus activities to learn Chinese in an easy environment.
